Kawela Bay is located on the North Shore, one bay West of Oahu's northern-most point (i.e. Turtle Bay Hilton - with golf, tennis, riding stables) and three miles East of Sunset Beach (immortalized by the Beach Boys, along with nearby Waimea, in "Surfing USA"). It is very close to Ted's Bakery (the best pies in Hawaii). Charming Haleiwa, about 9 miles away, has some excellent restaurants, surf shops, galleries. . . ., and Baywatch is now filmed there. Kawela Bay is about 45 minutes from the Honolulu Airport, about 55 minutes from downtown Honolulu.
